Synopsis: Support for agricultural
land preservation is reflected in the Routt
County Open Lands Plan, adopted in 1995.
The plan identifies eight major techniques
for agricultural land preservation, including
the use of conservation easements. A conservation
easement is one tool for protecting a ranch
from being sold for development while providing
needed cash for continued operation.
